Woman's History Publicity Shots for Bright Star Theatre!

 The above shots, with the very talented actors, Carin and Erica, are from a play called We Can Do It...Woman in American History which recently launched this past fall for Bright Star Touring Theatre.

I love this shot above. Bright Star wanted a shot for their upcoming brochure for the 'Contact Us' page! I love the 60's vibe and the multitude of phones {mine is the cute yellow iPhone!}. Thanks Carin and Erica for suggesting we turn on my iTunes while shooting this. The club music sure did add to the atmosphere of getting into 'model shoot mode!'

It's a celebration at Party Blvd in Asheville

PARTY BLVD. celebrated their 3rd birthday bash just before Halloween {yes, I'm aware its taken me awhile to update this} and I had the privilege to take photos for the very fun event. We all had a blast! Pictured above, is David, who is on the side of the road on Long Shoals bringing in people by the masses. Below is a great shot showcasing Party Blvd's Halloween costumes, modeled perfectly is Maddison and Jason.

Above is a father daughter team, McKenzie and Mike, who posed for me between handing out hot dogs and nachos.... a huge hit by the way! And below, something struck McKenzie where she obviously got the case of the giggles.

Fall Family Session at the Asheville Arboretum!

I LOVE PHOTOGRAPHING THIS TIME OF YEAR! I'm sure you can agree that the colors in the mountains of Asheville are some of the most insane colors in the world.

So I was thrilled to have a family session scheduled mid-October with one of my repeated clients and dear friends, McKenzie and Peter. Peter's side of the family has had some wonderful additions to the family recently.....a new grandchild, Samantha, and a new daughter/sister-in-law, Kristin. What a great time to photograph the entire family, right?! Well, we all met at the North Carolina Arboretum in Asheville on a cool fall afternoon and had ourselves a blast {not to mention a ton of laughs- mostly at me making faces and laying in the middle of the road hoping nobody would run me over!}.

Local Photog's New Headshots!

I have a very talented and wonderful friend here in Asheville, who happens to be an incredibly talented photographer. Her name is Rachael Mcintosh. I met her at Corey McNabb's Photography workshop back in 2009. She just launched her new website and wanted some new headshots done. Here's what I took....

Concours d'Elegance event in Michigan

O.k., so I'm not the hugest fan of cars per say, but I secretly want a 1920's gangster car where I have this sexy photo of me coming out of it car wearing bright red lipstick and a vintage dress with a slit up the front, a furry shall around my shoulders, a BIG fancy hat, oh and long gloves on my hands, holding one of those long cigarette holders. I'm ready for my shoot, who ever wants to do this for me. LOL! I just need to find a black gangster car, oh and the whole outfit, but I'm just sayin'. 

In all seriousness, I had the opportunity to photograph a bunch of old cars this summer at the Concours d'Elegance Event on the campus of Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan. And I found my gangster car. Many of them. Here's the one I want {while you cannot really see the entire car, but the hood ornament shows you what I'm talking about!}.

Sweet Kiss in Asheville

A dear friend of mine, Robin, is newly in love and wanted to celebrate her boyfriends birthday by presenting him with a photo of where they had their 'first kiss!' This is a scene from a movie. Right? When Harry Met Sally kinda romantic scene? I'm telling you, when she said....."I want to hire you to take a photo of where we had our first kiss, could you do that?" I mean how adorable and romantically sweet is this?! She said that her boyfriend's favorite building downtown Asheville {the cite where they had their first kiss} is the backdrop for this picture. So here is what I took for her.....

Headshot session with mother, daughter team!

These two fabulous mother daughter team, Cary and Ashleigh, asked me to photograph their new head shots for an upcoming audition opportunity  for the United Professional Theatre Auditions in Memphis, Tennessee {break a leg ladies!}. The three of us headed downtown Asheville and had ourselves a total blast. We giggled and laughed and all felt like rock stars. And I wasn't even the one being photographed. 

Most times, as a photographer, behind the camera you are concentrating on details and technical things, but with these ladies, everything seemed to have come naturally and our sense of humors really made for an awesome Sunday afternoon! In fact, I have a knack for paying attention to details and I found myself not being the only one. With each others help, we made sure to keep an eye out for 'fly away hairs' or 'lipstick on the teeth.' Thank you ladies for allowing me the opportunity to photograph your head shots and all the referrals that have been coming my way!!!

Art in the Airport

Three of my photographs have been on display at the art gallery since June {I know, I know....took me awhile to post, sorry!} at the Asheville Regional Airport until October 12th, 2010 in Asheville, North Carolina.

Many friends and family have been in and out of the airport all summer and have gotten a look at the gallery.....take a gander to see what photos are on display.
