Family Photos of the Harris Family

Here is my recent shoot of a wonderful family who's 3 very thoughtful children bought a family photo package for their wonderful mom for Mother's Day! See, Colby was coming into town from Arizona to attend his baby sister, Maddison's, graduation from NC State. SO, they came up with a perfect idea to get their mom some professional photos of their family for Mother's Day!

We had scheduled our shoot outside in the gardens of the Biltmore Estate. Well, as it turns out, this had never happened to me {*knocking on wood right now!}, but the morning of the shoot, we found ourselves facing a down-pour of rain! We're talking a monsoon. This is very unusual weather for WNC. And because I am primarily a natural-light photographer, I was crushed, but knew there was the perfect solution. So, I quickly thought on my feet, as we had 7 family members to corral, and decided to bring them to another location with beautiful natural light. Thankfully they were open to the idea. So we went to The Grove Park Inn and had ourselves a ball!

Family Shoot with the Robinson's

A beautiful day with my sweet neighbors, The Robinson's, where I had the pleasure of spending their Mother's Day with them at the Arboretum in Asheville. This was a gift given to Rebekah by her very loving husband, Dean. I was so touched at how loving and fun their family was together. I arrived later in the afternoon, around 6:30 ish, and because of the golden light of the day and the beautiful backdrops of the scenery, we had a lot to play with!

Lucy & Annie the Wonder Dogs!

I absolutely love dogs and I LOVE it when I get the opportunity to photograph them. A dear sweet friend I hadn't seen in a long time contacted me asking if I would photograph her dogs for a birthday present for her friend. She wanted to get them 'in action' playing with each other and some individual photos of them too! I met her at her house and it wasn't an ideal situation to get them in full action, so we hopped in the car and went to a near by park where the dogs could run around and play. We had such a good time laughing at them as they played non-stop, well except when my friend, Beth, busted out their 'treats!'

Sarah-Kim's New Actor Headshots

A true beauty inside and out! This very talented actress and singer needed new headshots to 'get back in the game' of submitting her photos to talent agencies for commercial work. She's been busy raising 2 very adorable boys and feels it is time to work again. Well, I was fortunate to be asked to do photograph her headshots!

When I arrived at her house, she had had her make-up professionally done by the very talented, Scott, at Make-Up at the Grove Arcade in downtown Asheville. He went with a very simple look that brought out her unbelievable eyes and smile. Nice job Scott! Sarah-Kim and I went into her bedroom where she had laid out all of her clothes to choose from and I picked out my favorites. Because it was such a beautiful spring afternoon, we went outside {lipstick & comb in hand of course!} and found some wonderful locations. We laughed a lot and I felt like we had known each other for years. She even had me in stitches!

Here's what we captured:
