This is Jan. Jan is a successful business woman establishing her own real estate management company in the greater Detroit area. When I went back to Detroit for the holiday's, she hired me to update her portfolio to use in all areas of her marketing campaign. We had a delightful time and have to tell you what a trooper she was. I arrived at her new property downtown Detroit on Grand Ave on a VERY cold and blistery winter day.....ready to shoot these amazing headshots! She had gotten her make-up and hair professionally done and was prepared with several different outfits to market her personality. We had ourselves a wonderful time and was honored to capture these....

The many wonderful faces of Michelle, an incredibly talented actor based in Los Angeles. We had quite the team lined up making sure to give her the royal rock-star treatment, while capturing her updated actor portfolio. She's hadn't had an entire multi-look headshot shoot in awhile.

We had the very best team to help capture her different looks....with make-up and hair to the stars, Shannon of Shannondoahglamour, she really took the time to colaborate with us to make sure we started subtle & sweet {girl next door, mom and fun sassy roommate} then move to a more sophisticated & glamourous looks {real estate agent, lawyer, and banker}. 

I also had my assistant and awesome photographer himself, Dave. He was a huge help bouncing light boards and all kinds of other things labor intensive jobs. He was such a trooper and when the two of us work together, we always have a great time making each other laugh!

What a compliment!  Karri does something that no other photographer in Los Angeles does.  She makes the post-headshot work simple for the actor.  She narrows the shots down, so you're not overwhelmed with 500 pictures to sort through (I'm sure if you want all the pictures, even the ones with your eyes closed, she'll happily give them to you).  She sorted them into four files, small jpegs for instant upload onto my website and IMDB page, large image files for printing, social media jpegs with her logo and a file for photography release.

'Just in the nick of time' Urban Maternity Photo shoot downtown LA with Karri Brantley Photography.

This lovely couple recently moved to Los Angeles by way of Washington D.C. to start a whole new chapter in their lives with their upcoming addition to their family. They had been wanting a maternity session, all urban style, downtown Los Angeles, but with their work schedules they had trouble committing to a date. So we finally made time, as the due date was only 2 weeks away. We went downtown to the Grand Park area in the later part of the afternoon, just at the perfect golden light hour. Poor mama was so uncomfortable as she was ready to meet her sweet baby, so I did all I could to comfort her and be as efficient as I could with the time we had. Here's what we captured.....{oh, and they welcomed their sweet baby girl, the day AFTER our shoot! She definitely has perfect timing already.}

Guides WebSeries, a sci-fi comedy web series that I produced and was the Director of Photography on this summer, was featured on a Los Angeles Radio Station called LA Talk Live . We were interviewed by Brett & featured as one of the great webseries to watch in 2012.

A glorious Birthday celebration!

I recently celebrated a wonderful birthday & was honored to have a few close girlfriends treat me to an amazing dinner at a restaurant in my neighborhood, called Desert Rose. We had ourselves a wonderful time drinking wine outside on the patio, laughing and I ate the most delicious meal...I indulged in the tasty seared scallops. Yumm-O. I am a very grateful lady to have such special friends in my life who helped me celebrate my birthday.

This very hilarious comedic actress and voice over talent has graced my life lately, as we've had the privilege of working together on a couple of voice over projects, so when she hired me to update her commercial headshot portfolio for her agent, I was super pumped! I knew we would have a complete blast together. We, seriously, laugh it up every time we are together {I mean just look at how freakin' adorable her face is....she is a crack-up!}, so I new we could collaborate & bring out the best in her personality.

She hadn't had any updated shots of her new hair-do, so I decided to come to her house in Beverly Hills off Mulholland Drive. Perfect lighting and gorgeous views.....WOW! Honestly, the moment I arrived, I was tempted just to kick back out on her back yard, drink some wine and laugh for hours. However, I knew that would happen eventually, as soon as we got some work done. My moto: work hard, play hard! So, I showed up ready to get these amazing new headshots done for her agent. We, of course, laughed our fools heads off during & after. I couldn't be more thrilled for the great updated shots we captured. The perfect color shirts to compliment and really make those eyes pop! LOVE IT!

 

Adventures in Yosemite for the weekend with friends!

Um, this place, amazing. Yosemite National Park. There are no words big enough or fancy enough or or emulating enough to describe how incredibly beautiful this place is. A group of us went to celebrate one of my friends birthday & we all decided to rent a really nice cabin at the base of the park. We had LOADS of fun cooking healthy scrumptious food, hiking to beautiful water falls, enjoying fun times playing pool and board games and cracking jokes in the jazzuzi. All sorts of just good times. You know I brought my camera, so enjoy the magnificent views....
